Sugar free, fat free, paleo, low carb, no carb, high protein, atkins, high intense cardio, split days strength training, total body training... YIKES! HELP!
It is soooo easy to get overwhelmed trying to figure out what eat and how to workout and it really doesn't have to be that complicated.
For 90% of you, if you feel overwhelmed I am going to break it down into just a 2 things.
Number 1: Eat Healthy. This means look at the ingredient list and if you don't know what something is or you can not get that ingredient to make it in your own kitchen... Don't Eat It. PERIOD. For now don't worry about anything else. You just follow this 1 RULE and you will be light years ahead.
Number 2: Workout Regularly. Go to the gym at least 3 days per week and do half strength training and half cardio. PERIOD. So if your at the gym 40 minutes do 20 minutes cardio and 20 minutes doing weights. Here is the kicker. Make sure you workout at an intensity of 7 or above on scale of 1-10. Meaning you are sweating and a little worn out after your workout.
THAT'S IT. If you are not doing those 2 Things Stop Worrying about everything else and get the foundation of healthy eating and workout regimen down pack.
Then after you are consistently doing that we can start exploring other things to make you even healthier and stronger. But don't put the cart before the horse.
If you are still eating fast food (which contains ingredients you should not be eating) you don't need to worry about eating ACAI berries because you read an article or a friend told you how it can help you lose weight.
Focus on the basics and foundation of living a healthy and strong life. I know it isn't sexy or seem cutting edge but I think all of us can use a little reminder.
