Let's be honest. Trying to lose weight and getting in shape is hard. For some people it is the hardest thing they will ever do.
There are many things that contribute to weight gain and can make it harder to lose weight then it has to be, but the one we tend to overlook is our emotions.
In particular, Stress. Sticking to a diet can be very stressful. Stress can produce cortisol which can lead to your body storing more fat making you gain weight versus losing it.
I see so many people who are so stressed about what they eat that even though they eat good most of the time, they can never seem to lose weight.
Let me tell you. The key to losing weight and keeping it off for good is to be CONSISTENT not PERFECT.
Let me say that again.
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be consistent!
You are allowed to have cake on your birthday, but it is not your birthday everyday!
It is what you do most of the time that will determine if you are healthy or not.
So the question you need to ask yourself is,
Are you consistently eating healthy and have a few occasional not so good meals or Are you consistently eating bad and have the occasional few good meals?
Does that make sense?
So don't stress if you overdid it this weekend, just get back on track and start eating healthy and if you want that occasional treat (Keyword Occasional NOT Daily) enjoy it and just don't overdue it and stress about it.
I hope this helps and have a Great Consistent Healthy Week!
